Customer Reviews about Lowell Animal Hospital

  • I travel 55 minutes each way to see Dr. Wise and her staff at Lowell. Why? Because even though there are plenty of vets with good reviews in my area (south suburbs of Chicago), NONE of them provide the level of honest and compassionate care that Lowell Animal Clinic does. NONE. Dr. Wise was the only vet that was able to correctly diagnose my dog Lucy's GI issue (after seeing three other vets!) She was able to get Lucy stable, and then referred us to Purdue where Lucy received further testing. She is doing great now, and is back under the supervisory care of Dr. Wise. It's like having our old Lucy back-she is energetic, playful, and most importantly she is eating again! My husband and I are beyond grateful for Dr. Wise, Dr. Clubine, Kourtney, and the rest of the amazing staff at Lowell. I am a nurse and I know all about what it takes as a team to provide the best possible care. Trust me when I say that your pet is in the most capable of hands at Lowell Animal Clinic. And I do not understand some of the poorer reviews here on Google. Sometimes we do not know exactly what ails our pets. We think we have an idea, but we must rely on the professionals to determine the care that our fur babies need. When people get sick, they search Google for symptoms and (often times) medically misguided or inappropriate methods of treatment. That isn't always the right way to go about things, but it happens. Sure, it might work for the common cold. But some diseases and illnesses need professional treatment. And just like if you were to be admitted to the hospital with a communicable disease or illness that could potentially affect other patients, the doctor is going to make the best decision for your care and treat you and/or medicate you so that 1) your treatment and road to recovery starts RIGHT away and 2) you do not transmit your disease/illness to others. Animals are the same. You see the veterinarian for a reason- because your pet needs treatment, whether it is for a disease/illness or surgery. Dr. Wise and her staff are going to do what they think is right for your pet's health. Veterinary treatment is going to cost money. As I previously stated, Lowell Animal Clinic is fair and honest. Much, much more so than most of the clinics and hospitals that you will find anywhere.

  • Everyone there is SO NICE! I thought I was doing a bit much trying to bring my dog in with my 2 year old daughter, but while I was struggling, an angel appeared to take my dog off my hands while I dealt with changing my toddler's diaper! My dog was promptly examined, got his issues addressed and I even got a really nice follow up call! They are totally worth the 3 hour round trip drive!

Took my 3 kittens here for spade. Get a phone call from the Dr. stating one of the kittens has a bruise and it very well maybe rat poisoning, she states this type of bruising is consistent with rat poisoning. Now this kitten is my 7 year olds, of course I am going to take her advice and get blood work also as she is hanging up the phone she states, and by the way they all have fleas. Ok, great I have flea drops at home. So I pick the cats up and to my surprise they have administered some 24 hr flea pill to all 3 of them and are charging me $12 each. And of course this is when I learn of the $115.00 blood work, what? Ok whatever, walking out $614.00 poorer and still have 1 kitten left to spade. Well here is the kicker, this "bruise" the "Dr" spoke of was gone, no bruise. Nothing. They call me Monday to tell me the blood work came back clean, yeah, really? So oh knowledgeable Doctor why is it that you would diagnose a kitten with rat poision when this "bruise" is none existent? Here is the real good juicy part, my kitten is there right now. In the matter of 72 hours (and it could of been sooner) they are operating on this kitten who at one point was on her death bed with rat poisioning and needed blood work. So buyer beware these people will over charge while playing on your emotions, always ask what the additional charges are. So these people have dragged me through the ringer, thank god for social media, newspapers and word of mouth, Karma.
